CLB Nurse Call and
Acoustic Monitoring
Ideal Care Homes and LNT Construction
The Brief
The brand new purpose built 66 bed Mountview Care Home in Mountsorrell, Leics scheduled for opening for late 2017 had a focus on including cutting edge technology throughout to help improve care for residents – the new home takes it’s total number of beds to 942.
Adaptive IT were tasked by LNT Construction to provide a suitable Nurse Call and monitoring solution for their resident bedrooms and for all communal areas.
The Challenge
Adaptive IT's Solution
CLB’s Acoustic Monitoring non-intrusively listens to sleeping residents and triggers an alert when the sound level in a room exceeds individually set thresholds. This enables staff to swiftly respond to residents in need of care. Continuous monitoring replaces routine in-room checks, so peacefully sleeping residents are not disturbed and staff are free to focus on those whose distress has triggered an alert
Each resident bedroom was fitted with the sleek new generation wall plates teamed with a pear push and pull cord in the ensuite.
In a ground breaking move an initial number of 6 specialist IP cameras were installed into residents rooms to work in tandem with the CLB solution. Once an alert has been raised the responder can access a live feed from the room to ascertain immediately what actions need to be taken and cut lead times down even further.
Intelligent Nurse Call units were deployed in every communal area allowing alerts to be raised in every necessary part of the building throughout the day and for the Lounge areas CLB wireless receivers were also installed to give coverage for residents wearing pendants.
Ideal Care Homes will be looking to equip their homes with Acoustic Monitoring systems following its successful adoption at their new Mountview site built by LNT Construction.
