Polycom Video Conferencing
Wye Valley NHS Trust provides health services to the people of Herefordshire and the surrounding areas. A new strategic partnership between them and South Warwickshire NHS FT meant that a Video Conferencing Solution needed to be found for the Trust HQ Boardroom and CEO Office at County Hospital, Hereford.
Existing AV equipment in the Boardroom had to be removed and the new solution needed to be able to be used as a presentation platform as well as a conferencing bridge between trust sites.
Project turn around was very tight with a very aggressive programme of project consultation and subsequent delivery required to hit Trust deadlines.
Adaptive IT's Solution
After an initial site survey and consultation with key Trust stakeholders, a project plan was agreed and set in motion.
2x wall mounted 60″ UHD SMART HD LED screens were positioned side by side as the two display endpoints. This created a great sized display area and input feeds from any source could be shown on either or both screens.
The conferencing solution was the Polycom Real presence HD 500 codec with EagleEye 12x cameras. This enables real time communication between meeting parties with crisp HD images and crystal clear sound regardless of the distance between them.
The series also enables Skype for Business, Lync 2013 & AV MCU interoperability to create a versatile presentation platform. The Polycom 500 is incredibly easy to use and the collaborative, audio and video experience of the equipment is of unrivalled quality.
This project is a great example of Adaptive IT being able to use our experience of working in a Healthcare environment to deliver a bespoke system in a very short timeframe. We knew the expectations of the client immediately and were able to specify, and more importantly deliver the solution as required. This equipment will mean the sites can keep in contact ensuring staff work more efficiently without the need for travel, whilst helping save resources and reduce their carbon footprint.Jonathan White
