Veolia Environmental Services
Since 1999 we have provided support to Onyx/Veolia Environmental Services for all of their network and telephony requirements. Day-to-day business will include infrastructure installations throughout the UK for additional data outlets, fault calls and new/acquisition sites.
Adaptive IT provide full project support from survey, through to proposal, installation and commissioning. Most of the installations are not attended by VES IT personnel until after the installation is complete due to the fact that the Adaptive IT project team understand their client’s requirements in depth. This saves Veolia time and money and is all part of the service we provide as part of the contract.
Veolia Environmental Services have in excess of 400 premises in the UK and Adaptive IT provide coverage from Lands’ end up to the Sheland Isles.
As part of the main support contract, Adaptive are also the preferred contractor for any of the new build projects Veolia embark upon.
Working with Volker Fitzpatrick to provide a full structured cabling solution throughout the Administration block, visitors centre, observation balcony and to the maintenance areas.
Adaptive IT Solutions specified a Category 6 solution which is supplemented with fibre optic and CW1308 backbones between areas. The project was scheduled in three phases to fit around the construction over four months.
Working with Parkeray on the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th floors of the London headquarters. Adaptive IT flood wired the floors with a Category 6 solution totaling 1200 outlets. Careful scheduling was required to comply with the refurbishment to allow for Veolia to complete the move ahead of the end of the lease in the previous building.
Once again the copper solution was linked with fibre optic backbones between the cabinets on each of the floors.
Kingswood Head Office
In partnership with Waltermiles M&E we have assisted Veolia with the specification for this brand new head office. Comprising of three floors with a communications room centrally located on each. A 32 core multimode fibre optic backbone is triangulated between all three locations to provide resilience.
A total of 1500 Category 6 UTP outlets are evenly spread across all areas to provide flexibility for the immediate requirements as well as future changes.
Adaptive IT will provide assistance to Veolia as they take possession of the premises, for patching all PC’s, printers, telephone, wireless and AV devices.
This material recycling facility has seven areas which required network cabling. The main admin block acts as the “nerve centre” and from this point fibre optic and voice multicore backbones radiate out to the Weighbridge, Workshop, MRF, HWRC, IVCMCC and control room.
Adaptive IT were involved from the very beginning to ensure all underground ducts and cable pathways were installed to correct areas and specification to enable the network to perform to the optimum levels without interference for the machinery.
As with the Padworth Facility Adaptive IT have been consulted on all cable related issues on this project.
The main difference is that the Southwark MRF is the largest in the UK and is pioneering leading edge technology for its composting procedures.
Being entrusted by Veolia’s IT personnel to complete the installations independently shows the depth of knowledge that our team possesses and our effective understanding of our client’s requirements. It was a pleasure to work at some high-profile sites for the UK’s leader in environmental services, and we are proud to have delivered every project on time and budget.Chris Amies
