The University of Northampton Innovation Centre is a flagship building for the Northampton Enterprise Zone. WIth 42 flexible office units, a cafe and conference space, the centre offers the opportunity to grow your enterprise in a supportive environment alongside like-minded businesses.
As part of the refurbishment project to the 4th floor to create state-of-the-art dance/drama studio facilities for UoN Students, Adaptive IT was tasked with supplying a suitable AV solution.
The 6 dedicated Studios had a very fluid requirement which meant the ideal solution would be mobile, easy to use by Students and Staff and able to be integrated with any presentation/source device.
Music and video are an integral part of any performance, especially dance, so the system needed to be of sufficient professional quality.
Adaptive IT's Solution
After intial discussion with key project stakeholders and end users, we delivered the solution that consisted of:
3x 84″ Panasonic UHD 4K LED Display screens each mounted onto a Peerless AV Trolley – these screens were to be used as a shared communal resource that could be deployed in any of the 6 areas. All screens were teamed with their own Blu-Ray player to give an impressive visual experience to the viewer in high quality large format.
For the audio aspects, a Denon mobile PA system was supplied to each studio. Able to be powered by rechargeable batteries or run on mains power, the equipment could be positioned anywhere in the room as needed, be connected wirelessly to any Bluetooth enabled device and even had a wireless microphone to aid voice re-enhancement for the group leader.
The impressive visual aspects of the equipment supplied definitely give the new facilities a wow factor. Accessibility is key now in this kind of environment and the fact that no matter what kind of input source is brought to the studio, by the staff or students, they can connect effortlessly and effectively.Jonathan White
