The Brief

The University is investing £46m in a new state of the art library at the Luton Campus.

The new facility is due to open from the Summer of 2016 in readiness for the new intake in the autumn.

Adaptive IT were tasked with the supply and installation of all of the passive networking infrastructure.

Adaptive IT's Solution

Working under instruction from Integral we successfully delivered –

  • 2500 Cat6a data outlets
  • 2x 42U 800×800 Data Cabinets at 4 separate Comms locations across all four levels
  • Voice Backbone – 24x Cat6a copper links between four Comms sites
  • Fibre Optic Backbone – 11x 12 Core OM3 links to new cabinet positions and linked back to existing Server estate.

It was a pleasure working with Integral again on this job and despite the challenges involved in a job of this size, we managed to finish the job on time and on budget. As always the quality of the installation was 2nd to none.
