Cabinet Rationalization

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust

The Brief

Heathcote House is an office building housing many different services, located next to the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) at the Royal Leamington Spa Hospital.

Due to the increase of people coming into the building, and the necessary accommodation of their equipment, a cabinet rationalization was required to ensure space is constantly available.

Adaptive IT's Solution

The project had to be undertaken out of hours in order to reduce disruption to NHS staff and the live environment. We installed a temporary link to the ISPA call centre to ensure 24/7 uptime for the critical areas during our works. We unpatched the existing 48port 2U panels and replaced them with 24port ½U panels, saving the customer 4U of cabinet space and halving the footprint of the Cat5e panels.

The entire project took a combined 18 hours to complete, including the initial survey, replacing the panels, testing and fixing of any existing faults on the network, and patching and tidying the cabinet and room.

Adaptive IT have once again been able to use their extensive knowledge and experience in the healthcare sector to complete this project on time and budget with little to no disruption to the live healthcare environment. We now have enough cabinet space to comfortably accommodate any future equipment as the need arises.
