CLB Nurse Call
Christadelphian Care Homes
Christadelphian Care Homes exists mainly, although not exclusively to care for members of the Christadelphian Faith and they operate Care Homes and Sheltered housing schemes throughout the UK.
They are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care including dementia.
Adaptive IT were tasked with installing the CLB Nurse Call system into their new build Dudley Park apartment complex in Birmingham which is sited adjacent to their existing Olivet Care Home.
Provision needed to be made for all 7 new apartments across 3 floors with Nurse Call alerts that are generated by residents being directed to mobile working staff in the adjacent main building.

CLB NURSE CALL
A single CLB Nurse Call unit was positioned into the hallway of each apartment. This enabled staff and residents to call for assistance in a central area of each dwelling.
Each apartment was issued a wireless pendant to be worn by residents – this has an anti-ligature necklace or can be worn around the wrist. This allowed them the ability to call for assistance from any area of their living space.
Wireless CLB receivers were installed across each floor to give full site coverage so residents had peace of mind that their call would be picked up wherever they were in the building.
To facilitate a connection to the existing Olivet LAN an wireless connection bridge was installed with paired units mounted at height on the exterior of each building.
To complete the chain, care staff were issued with a ruggedized android smartphone which allowed them to receive and accept Nurse Call alerts whilst on the move which ensured a swift and timely response to assistance calls.
Centralised reporting tools keep a full audit trail of when alerts were generated and when they were responded to. Management can then either make sure targeted response times are being met or evidence/information can be exported and presented to 3rd parties such as CQC.
We are delighted to be working with CCH and envisage this project as the beginning of a long partnership together. By using us as a preferred technology partner we can advise on the best equipment available and more importantly how to integrate or get the best out of their existing equipment across their estate. This ensures maximum benefit and value is obtained for the lifespan of all technology purchased.Jonathan White
